This week, the school received the final verdict on March’s Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) accreditation. The Accrediting Commission for Schools of the WASC evaluated the school from Sunday, March 3 to Wednesday, March 6, when they assessed the school’s classroom and campus environments by interviewing and observing campus life. Los Altos received another six-year accreditation term.
The marching bands and color guards of Los Altos and Mountain View High School are requesting second year physical education credit for participants. This would mean five P.E. credits for each fall a student participates in marching band or color guard after their freshman year.
The annual spring art show will be held in the cafeteria tomorrow, May 17, between 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Students will get a chance to walk around during first through sixth period and view a gallery of the art students’ work. Although the show will not include an auction, viewers can contact the artist if they find a piece particularly appealing.
TweetToday, Thursday, May 16 the district announced Dave Grissom as the principal at Mountain View High School (MVHS) for the next school year. Current principal Keith Moody is slated to become Director of Adult Education next year. The school board will vote on Grissom’s appointment at their May 28 meeting.

The team was one win away from making it to the final round at this competitive event, which drew teams from as far as Texas and Florida.
