Bud Casey might be fictional, but Team Bud Casey’s Dodgeball 2010 Championship is very real.
In the final game, the all-senior team defeated the freshman Alto Boys Club (ABCs) 3-0 to cap a memorable last day of the tournament.

Team Bud Casey defeated White T’s Reloaded 1-0 to advance to the finals of the school dodgeball tournament this afternoon, Wednesday, May 26.
Early on in the allotted four-minute match period, it became apparent that the result of the match would come down to whichever team outperformed the other in the area of catching—a skill for which both teams were known going in to the match.

The ABCs, a team composed entirely of freshmen, defeated Sicky 4 Crew (S4C) 2-1 in the quarterfinals in overtime on Wednesday, May 26.

The freshman team The ABCs upset the defending champions Cougar Hunters in a thrilling 2-1 sudden death overtime victory.
The first game was in the Cougar Hunters’ favor, but two back-to-back catches by freshman Mac Kliman turned the tide.

M-Block member junior Tyler Stout called the game “very intense” and “a battle of the warriors.”
Staff team scares away first round opponents

The all-teacher team Nightmare on Almond Street dominated its game today to cause a “nightmare” for its first round opponent, the Regulators.
Dressed in shirts with “claw slashes,” Nightmare on Almond Street took down a team comprised of members of the girls basketball team and their coach Keith Mims.
Volunteer team upsets ‘super athletes’

In a move that has been seen before in this year’s tournament, a dodgeball team composed on-the-spot out of spectator students defeated a heavily favored team during lunch on Wednesday, May 19.
The favored team, The Kooks, was composed of junior Danny Giacomini and seniors James Christiansen-Salameh, Alex Bailey, Nick Schaefer, Delphine Schaller and Adlai Katzenberg.
The B Team holds on for the win in sudden death

The B Team, composed of ASB members senior Katherine Portelli, juniors Jack Montgomery, Chris Beyer, Kyle Riesch and Anthony Biondi and freshman John Lee, narrowly defeated team S.T.O.S 3-2 in sudden death overtime today, Tuesday, May 18.
After winning the first period, the B Team fell behind 2-1 with only a minute and ten seconds to play.
Title hopefuls defeated 2-0 by hasty underclassmen team

With shifty moves and soft hands instead of rocks, the first big David versus Goliath upset of the 2010 dodgeball season occurred during the first day of the tournament on Monday, May 17.
Title hopefuls Click Clack Gang were a final-four team from last year. Comprised of predominantly upperclassmen varsity football players, the team fell to a spur-of-the-moment group of younger underclassmen.
