‘The Iron Lady’: Politics, Power and Poignancy

As an American teenager, I find myself knowing embarrassingly little about Margret Thatcher, or British politics in general. Despite this, however, I didn’t find myself particularly hindered by my lack of knowledge while watching a movie marketed as the story of a important political figure.

Skyrim is the latest installment of the Elder Scrolls, a series of immersive fantasy action roleplaying games made by Bethesda. The game doesn’t present a goal to accomplish so much as an enormous world to explore in complete freedom, though there is a primary plot line as well. So, after playing limbo with the graphics settings for about half an hour to accommodate my rusty old laptop, I began my epic adventure in the land of Skyrim—almost.
