Disclaimer: Although Fugitive can be a fun and safe game, The Talon does not sanction any illegal activity, such as trespassing, that may occur while students participate in this game.
A Fugitive game will be held in Los Altos this Friday, March 19. Any students interested in participating are required to meet in the school parking lot at 8 p.m.
The game consists of “spotters” and “runners.” The objective of the “spotter” is to drive around and seek out the “runners,” who will attempt to navigate across certain points while evading the “spotters.” A “runner” loses when his or her name is called or when he or she is caught by a spotter.
Students are not required to sign up. As many as 50 players have shown up in the past, though most games typically consist of 20 players.
Fugitive, created a few years ago by students from the school, is moderated by junior Chris Beyer and senior Karim Poonja. According to Chris, the game typically takes place in Los Altos and occasionally Los Altos Hills.
“It’s an awesome game and you get to meet tons of new people,” Chris said. “A lot of people like it because it’s exhilarating.”
Players are notified of upcoming games via the Facebook group Weekend Fugitive.
