
With four days of dodgeball down, the tournament has now reached the competitive phase. Games on Wednesday, May 16 and Thursday, May 17 proved that teams are warmed up, competitive and ready to battle it out for the championship.

Several dodgeball teams that competed in the bracket today, May 16, are featured above.

The Latino Student Union (LSU) held its annual Cinco de Mayo festival yesterday, May 4 in the afternoon in the quad. Many vendors sold food and other goods to raise money for various causes, including LSU, which was raising money for a Latino student scholarship. LSU also invited many Latino dancers, singers and musicians to perform at the festival today.

The Mountain View Day Worker Center held a march today, May 1 for the worker rights of immigrants. The march, which featured speakers, aimed to raise awareness about some of the obstacles of the immigration status. The marchers began at Rengstorff Park in Mountain View, took turns on California Street and Showers Drive, and came to a stop in front of the Mountain View City Hall.

The Los Altos Green Team held activities in the quad during lunch on Monday, April 23 and Tuesday, April 24.

A number of students came to school to find their lockers vandalized today, April 16. Graffiti was evident, as many of the locks were found missing and the metal latches clipped off, making lock replacements impossible. So far, 33 students have come forward to report damaged lockers.

Though the Diversity Assembly is now an annual event, organized by Assistant Principal Cristy Dawson 10 years ago, it used to be hosted by English teacher Joanne Miyahara. Miyahara could no longer organize the Diversity Assembly once she had her children about eight years ago. For a period of time, the school’s diversity was not openly showcased and celebrated.
