Vandals steal parking lot sign
Sometime Friday night, vandals stole parts of the sign facing the main parking lot. The first two symbols, a star and an "L," were taken from the sign.
According to Principal Wynne Satterwhite, she received a call Friday night at around 10 p.m. from the custodians.
The custodians reportedly saw people jumping and throwing backpacks off of the music department roof. The administration is currently following this lead and trying to identify the car used by the vandals.
Concert Review: Rise Against with Alkaline Trio, Thrice, Gaslight Anthem
Rise Against made a stop at the San Jose Event Center on Friday, November 7 as a part of their Fall 2008 Tour to promote their new album "Appeal to Reason.
Alkaline Trio, Thrice and the Gaslight Anthem opened for Rise Against.
The Gaslight Anthem is a punk band from New Jersey who is a newcomers to the scene. They mostly played songs from their new album ?he 59 Sound, which sounds like the Bouncing Souls mixed with Against Me! and some Hot Water Music. The Gaslight Anthem had a very fresh, clean style that isn? commonly heard in punk music today. .
Jonas Brothers visit school for Halloween
A costume contest took place during lunch on Friday, October 31 to celebrate Halloween. Among competing costumes were a cow, Fred Flintstone, hobos, a present, Supergirl, a shark, Sarah Palin, a grim reaper, a jellyfish, Japanese ladies, babies and a green fairy.
Juniors Scott Zimmerman, Austin Hofschield and sophomore Shahan Salim, dressed as the popular band group Jonas Brothers, won the competition. The three played and sang "SOS" in front of the Eagle Theatre while a crowd of students watched.
