The annual Teen Job Faire was held today, March 17, in the cafeteria from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The Teen Job Faire allows students to browse and submit applications for various local job opportunities. While the job faire does not guarantee a job, students can often secure an interview.
According to career center counselor Kristen Joseph, the school has had a high track record for hires from the job faire.
The faire hosted over 20 employers this year, providing students with many volunteer and paid job opportunities.
According to Joseph, the faire offers a multitude of jobs for “anyone who is looking.”
Some of the opportunities offered this year included jobs in retail, summer camps and marketing.
Senior Heather Hoover, who had been anticipating the job faire since the job shadowing program offered in February, said the job faire was extremely useful for job-seeking students.
“It’s hard to find a job these days, and it makes it easier for people who do not have time [to search for jobs] outside of school,” Heather said. “Or for [students] who do not know where to look, [the job faire] helps them get started.”
According to Joseph, the major benefit of the job faire is the convenience it brings the students.
“[Students] do not need to go out and search for the jobs,” Joseph said. “There are employers here willing and ready to hire students. It is all in one location.”
