College Event to Take Place Tonight

The district-wide Private & CSU College Application Night will be held tonight, October 6, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the LAHS Eagle Theatre.

The event will be split into two parts. The first hour will relate to private colleges, and will cover the application process, letters of recommendation and essays. The second part will explain step by step how to fill out the California State University (CSU) application.

Counselor Maryann Smetzer said the event is mostly for seniors and will go over the “specific details” of the application process.

Tonight’s event is one of three workshops being offered by the College and Career Center and the Counseling department.

The second of the workshops is the UC College Application Night, which will explain how to complete the University of California (UC) application process. This presentation will be held Monday, October 12 from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the MVHS Spartan Theatre.

The third of the workshops is the Financial Aid Night, which is scheduled to be held Wednesday, December 2 in the Eagle Theatre.
