The annual Jazz Ensemble Guest Artist Concert will take place on Saturday, March 27 at 7 p.m. in the Eagle Theatre.
The concert will feature the San Jose Jazz Orchestra, an ensemble of which Music Department Director Ted Ferrucci is a member.
Over the past couple days, afternoon workshops were held in preparation for the concert. Members of the school’s jazz ensemble worked with professionals on the pieces they would be playing. During the workshops, students also learned improvisational jazz music and practiced in sectionals.
According to Ferrucci, “all the groups sound really great” and he is looking forward to the event.
“It’s a lot of fun,” Ferrucci said. “It’s going to be a great concert.”
The students participating in the concert also have positive feelings.
“It’s a great performance experience,” freshman Kevin Coelho said. “For all of us, it’s a really good opportunity.”
Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students.
