Several students were pulled from class to attend site visits conducted by a program called Actuality® yesterday, Tuesday, October 20.
Actuality® is a program that aims to unite and improve the community and school. Through examining the commendations and suggestions for the school from the students’ voices, the program is meant to formulate ideas to address local issues.
Two different sessions were held in the conference room in the library yesterday morning. One examined underclassmen, and the other focused on upperclassmen. This site visit included an informal student focus group as well as a community walkabout.
The student focus groups are targeted to gain a sense of what the students at the school like and dislike.
“It’s hearing straight from students and faculty with no pressure…so they’re getting very honest opinions,” senior Sarah Loebner said. “I actually really liked it. It was cool to talk to people that cared.”
