Student injured outside ‘Blackout’ dance

A male senior was hit by a car while crossing Almond Avenue as he made his way to the Junior Class’s “Blackout” dance on Friday, February 26. The accident happened sometime before 9:00 p.m.

Police were promptly called and closed off Almond Avenue from each side of the school.

“I received a call on the radio that there were police cars in front of the school and went up to see if I could help,” Principal Wynne Satterwhite said. “This was a very unfortunate accident.”

The student was immediately transported to Stanford Hospital and is currently still under observation. According to Satterwhite, he is doing well.
