The Relay Company, an independent pop band, played a surprise show for students during lunch today, November 3.
Members Jake Poose, Adam Mariucci and Stephen Mariucci set up their instruments in front of the Eagle Theatre and performed four of their songs in a mini show as part of their High School Tour around the Bay Area.
The band is working with the Sobrato Arts Foundation for Education to spread a message of liberal arts and music as an alternative career as students think about college.
“Our manager got together with representatives from Arts Related Technical Training for Entertainment Careers (ARTTEC) to spread a message together to high school students about entertainment and education,” front man of the band Adam Mariucci said.
After playing their songs, the group members stayed to answer fans’ questions, give autographs, and fulfill picture requests. The band then stayed for their presentation in the Eagle Theatre with ARTTEC about the academy’s work as well as their own.
The band’s visit came to end as they answered final questions from students and closed up their day at LAHS.
