Fall sports awards held, award winners posted

The fall sports awards were held today, Tuesday, December 1, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 in the large gym.

School sports awards are held after every season of school athletics to recognize athletes who have contributed in unique ways to their teams.

Coaches from the sports teams at the school presented to an audience of invited athletes and their parents, recapping the season and highlighting players.

Senior Tim Vanneman, member of the varsity football team, said these awards mark the end of a memorable experience playing for the school’s football program.

“It’s kind of sad to know that I won’t get to play football again, but I have enjoyed playing it for the past four years,” Tim said.

Senior Sarah Loebner was recognized for her inspirational qualities as part of the varsity tennis team.

“My attitude has always been that the team should have a good time,” Sarah said. “So even if we’re behind, we can’t stop cheering and going nuts for our teammates. That’s what I always tried to do.”
